The Virtual Geoscience Conference (VGC 2025) is a multidisciplinary forum for researchers and practitioners applying virtual and digital technologies in the Earth sciences. It fosters collaboration and knowledge exchange among geoscientists, remote sensing specialists, computer and data scientists, software developers, and engineers, providing a platform to share the latest developments and applications in these fields.

The VGC 2025 will take place on 9–12 September 2025 at the University of Lausanne (UNIL) in Lausanne, Switzerland. Workshops and short courses will be offered on Tuesday, 9 September. The main conference will take place on 10–11 September 2025, followed by a field trip on 12 September (to be confirmed).

The main conference themes are:
  • Method developments: laser scanning (LiDAR), 3D sensors, photogrammetry (SfM), UAVs, sensor integration, subsea & subsurface acquisitions, laboratory-scale measurements, Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) in teaching, …
